Forward Compatibility & Stability

VideoRemap is designed to be forward compatible with future versions of itself. What that means is that major versions will not conflict with each other and you can mix and match them within a project.

Say if you have v1 in your timeline and you just installed v2. In this case you do not have to replace v1 with v2 effects. You can continue to use the v1 effects until you decide you need v2 features and replace them with the v2 effect.

Mapping cache

Every time you load a mapping, it's cached on the instance of the effect. This means that you no longer have to have the mapping xml file accessible to have that VideoRemap effect instance continue working. You can export and share that timeline, remove the xml and the effect will still work.

Once you decide to reload the mapping, it will look for the xml file in the same place you first loaded it from. If the mapping is not there or cannot be loaded, the old mapping will remain.
